In The Spotlight With Amy Ellen

Our latest artist In The Spotlight with us is Dublin born singer songwriter Amy Ellen.

Amy is part of the emerging Irish indie-folk scene. Her music is inspired by artists such as Laura Marling, Kurt Vile and Fleetwood Mac.

She has previously supported artists such as Leila Jane, Emma Langford, and Fields. Upon releasing her debut single ‘My Heart’, she went on to play her headline show in The Underground.

Amy’s latest release ‘This Life’, is a coming of age pop rock tune which was inspired by true-life events. A song about losing and gaining people in your life. Instrumentally, the track has punchy 90’s rock elements differing from her latest acoustic driven songs.

In Amy’s words “The song is inspired by true-life events, it touches on losing and gaining people in your life and outlines that some moments become memories we cherish and reflect on. I feel that it’s a subject that everyone can relate to, sometimes we fail to see the impact others have on us until they are no longer present and vice versa”.

The song was made ”Track of the Day” by Hot Press on Monday 22nd Feb. Amy was also interviewed by Golden Plec who currently have This Life featuring on their “Fresh Fridays – New Irish Music” playlist. Furthermore, the track received notable reviews/features from Lefuturewave, deMarsMagazine and Indie Top 39.

’This Life’ is the fourth single, leading up to an EP release expected later this year.
