Our next artist in the spotlight is five piece Cork based band, Luunah.
The group was formed by lead singer Sarah-Beth with peers while studying in music college. As a live act, Sarah-Beth plays alongside Lee Kennedy, James Gormley, Emily Naughton and Paul Brennan, all of whom are established musicians and music creators.
Luunah’s music is an alternative pop based sound, however, the band come from a diverse musical background with the band member’s experience ranging from R&B to Rock, Disco to Folk and most things in between.
Dreamy electronic textures and a driving rhythm section act as a canvas for Luunah’s personal lyrics, vivid imagery and evocative thoughts. The band incorporate acoustic and electronic elements into their live set, creating a sound that is retro but contemporary.
Luunah aims to create music that aligns with real life and therefore resonates more deeply with those listening to it. They want to connect, understand, empathize and offer musical consolation to you when listening to their music.
Their influences include St.Vincent, Metronomy, Bat for Lashes, Gorillaz and Lana Del Rey.
